Norman Lamont is the term conventionally given to various biological and cultural currents first observed in the 1950s. From this there have emerged since the 1990s some musical themes which have raised some interests and eyebrows locally while remaining unknown to the wider world. Some of these are collected in the album In Another Life.
lyrics
Here's the ticket for a one day conference
Where we first met
I gave a talk with some Powerpoint slides
Here's a CD by Brian Eno
Another Green World
I lent it to you so you'd have to see me again
Here's the blouse you wore that first night
I never let you throw it away
My fingers remember every button they undid
Here's the ring, it felt so crazy
Haggled in a market in Fez
I never thought we'd get out of there alive
Walking backwards into tomorrow
Here's your photo of me in Paris
As we watched the passers by
Awarding points out of ten
Here's the bracelet they put on the baby's wrist
To say she was yours
It tooks four whole days to decide a name
Here's that ugly wooden candlestick
Your mother's brother made
It's been in every living room we've had
Here's the scan of our grandson
Looks like a bowl of dust
But we saw something there that felt like love
And here's a box made of cardboard
To put all these things in
And on the lid, a single red rose.
